Teekenschool
Fund 21 has committed itself to another five years as main sponsor of De Teekenschool, the Rijksmuseum’s educational centre. This support will enable us to continue developing and organizing workshops, theatrical productions and courses for young visitors. In partnership with Fund 21, for the first time we are now also planning activities for students in vocational further education.
“As main sponsor of De Teekenschool, Fund 21 is fulfilling its objective of investing in the development of accessible, high-quality art-centred education ”
Marie Hélène Cornips, General Director of Fund 21: Art education enriches young people, provides them with new outlooks and perspectives, strengthens their visual literacy, boosts social skills and encourages them to respect other people’s opinions. As main sponsor of De Teekenschool, Fund 21 is fulfilling its objective of investing in the development of accessible, high-quality art-centred education so as to make a positive contribution to today’s society.
Taco Dibbits, General Director of the Rijksmuseum: Our museum wants to connect young people with art and education, and to enhance their visits with innovative educational programmes. We are very pleased that Fund 21 shares this ambition and so is helping to make De Teekenschool’s activities possible.
FE programmes
Over the next few years the Rijksmuseum hopes to expand its educational activities to include programmes for students in vocational further education. This ambition ties in with Fund 21’s plans to help develop accessible, high-quality art-centred education for that sector. Recently, for example, it has joined forces with Amsterdam’s regional training centre to launch the optional course “Working for a Museum”.
