Cornelis Kruseman Foundation - J.M.C. Ising Foundation

Cornelis Kruseman Foundation – The J.M.C. Ising Foundation is a major contributor to the restoration of the painting Piety by Cornelis Kruseman.

The Cornelis Kruseman Foundation was established by Jozina Maria Cornelia Ising, a descendant of Johannes Diederik Kruseman, Cornelis Kruseman’s brother. In the summer of 1996 Mrs. Ising decided to establish a foundation to which she would bequeath her estate. The J.M.C. Ising Foundation’s goal is to arouse greater interest in the work of Cornelis Kruseman.

As well as contributing to the management and conservation of the Rijksmuseum collection, the Foundation has helped to finance the restoration of Cornelis Kruseman’s Godsvrucht (‘Piety’). This painting was in dire need of restoration before it could be presented to the public in the museum’s current display of works from the nineteenth century.
