3 & 4 October: Draw creepy crawlies and fantastic creatures

Use a magnifying glass and take a close look at the insects, butterflies and beetles – then make really accurate drawings of them. Or would you rather make an imaginary creature from the animals in the Rijksmuseum? Go to the museum’s Picnic Room and get started! With pencils and paper you can make the most beautiful creations.

Pay close attention when booking this program. It is only offered during the days mentioned above. On the other days there is a different theme.

3 & 4 October: Animal portraits

There are all sorts of animals hiding on the floor and walls of the museum’s Great Hall, from lions to elephants to lobsters. See if you can spot your favourite animal. Just choose one of the easels in the Great Hall and our teacher will come and give you tips on how to make a very special artwork of your animal.

Important reminder!

We’ve introduced some new ways of doing things here at the Rijksmuseum – like fewer visitors at any one time, for example, and extra hygiene measures. To visit the museum you’ll need to book a start time in advance. A booking for one of the activities doesn’t grant admission to the museum.
