Visiting with babies and toddlers

Pushchairs are allowed in the museum, but back baby carriers are not. Back baby carriers should be handed in at the free cloakroom, or stored in a locker. Visitors can borrow a pushchair, free of charge – supplies are limited.

Find out more about borrowing and reserving pushchairs.

Breastfeeding and changing

If you want to breastfeed your baby or express milk in private, please go to the information desk, where staff will be happy to show you the way.

You will find a changing area near the toilets. Click here for the floorplan (pdf).

Food & Drink

The cafe offers a special menu for children, and there are several coffee corners throughout the museum. You are welcome to consume your own food and drink in the Atrium (daily) or the Picnic Room (weekends only).

Click here for the floorplan (pdf) showing the locations of the cafe and the coffee corners.

Cloakroom

The museum has a large guarded cloakroom (free of charge) where you can drop off your backpacks, umbrellas, back baby carriers, etc. Visitors are allowed to carry small bags and handbags (maximum a4 size) into the museum.

Shop

In the shop under the cafe you’ll find an wid collection of children’s books and gifts. If you’d like to prepare beforehand, please visit our web shop.

Accessibility

On this page you’ll find everything you need to know about accessibility, plus tips for a relaxed visit to the museum.

Many children need to be well-prepared before a visit to the museum, and it can be especially important for children with an autism spectrum disorder, for example. Click here to download the preparation guide (pdf).
