Description
Op een oneffen terrein in de buitenlucht staan twee mannen. De man links draagt een knielang heupkleed (veshti, lungi) dubbelgeslagen omgeknoopt en in de taille vastgeknoopt. Vanaf de schouders hangen de lange uiteinden van een omgeslagen doek (chadar) van geruite stof naar beneden. Een doek is om het hoofd geknoopt; het korte haar is nog zichtbaar. De man rechts draagt ook een heupkleed (veshti, lungi) tot boven de knieën, omgewikkeld met een uiteinde tussen de benen door naar achter en dan ingestopt en omgevouwen in de taille (als een dhoti). Om het hoofd met kort haar is een losse geruite of gestreepte doek (chadar) geslagen, afhangend op de rug, een uiteinde geklemd onder de linkerarm. De mannen zijn afkomstig uit Zuid-India of Jaffna, en in Colombo tewerkgesteld in de wederopbouw. Blad 8 uit een schetsboek met 117 bladen.
