Description
Twee mannen staan buiten op een weg of straat. De man links gaat gekleed in een Zuid-Indiaas heupkleed (veshti, lunghi, dhoti) tot op de knie, en een omslagdoek (chadar) rond het bovenlijf. Hij houdt zijn rechterhand omhoog, wijsvinger voor zijn mond. Zijn haar is kort; zijn snor en baard zijn breed en vol. Het kan een arbeider uit Zuid-India zijn. De man links draagt een heupkleed (veshti, lungi) tot op de knie, met brede wikkeldoek als tailleband; daarboven een openhangend kraagloos Europees hemd met lange mouwen, dat rijkt tot over de heupen. De linkerhand steunt op de heup; met de rechterhand houdt hij een een zak of een lap vast. Zijn haar is opzij half-lang, van voor kort; hij heeft geen baard of snor, en op het hoofd draagt hij een omgeklapte slappe muts (à la Frygische muts). Het is een laagland-Singalees of een Euraziaat. Blad 12 uit een schetsboek met 117 bladen.
