FAQs Rijksmuseum tickets
I booked a ticket with my Museum Card (Museumkaart) or other card, but I’m not going to be able to come afetr all. What should I do?
We’re happy to cancel your booking if you are unable to come – it will allow someone else to book in your place. Please contact us via mail at groepen@rijksmuseum.nl.
I have a paid ticket, but now I want to cancel my booking. If I cancel, will the cost of my ticket be reimbursed?
No, it’s unfortunately not possible to reimburse cancelled bookings. What you can do, free of charge, is change the booked date and/or start time. See below for instructions on how to do this. Please visit our website for the available dates.
Can I change the date and/or start time of my visit to the museum?
Yes, it is possible to change the date and/or start time of a ticket. To do this, please send an email to groepen@rijksmuseum.nl at least 48 hours in advance of your existing booking. Please ensure that your email includes the order number, the email address you used for the booking, and your preferred new date and start time. Within three working days you will receive an email notifying you of whether your preferred new date and start time is available.
I’m running late, and I’m not going to make it to the museum in time for my start time. What can I do?
Unfortunately, we cannot help you in this case.
Can I book additional tickets for the same start time?
Possibly. Tickets are only available online, so we kindly advise you to check online whether there are still tickets available for the same start time as the tickets you have already purchased. If tickets for the same start time are still available, you are welcome to make an additional booking.
If no additional tickets are available for your preferred start time, you may wish to change the start time of the tickets you have already purchased. Please see above for information about how to do this.
Can I let someone else use my ticket?
Yes. Tickets are not named, and you may give them to other people.
I have booked a ticket with a start time for the permanent collection. Can I also use it to visit the temporary exhibition?

You will need to book a separate start time for the temporary exhibition (free of charge). To do this, in step 1 of the booking process please select ‘I already have a ticket/voucher’.
