Stephanie Afrifa
Curator and presenter Stephanie Afrifa gained her bachelor’s degree in Comparative Arts and Cultural Studies from Radboud University, Nijmegen. The paucity of diverse voices prompted her to start an art blog, and since doing so she has worked for Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, the Van Gogh Museum, EYE film museum and Museum Rotterdam, and curated at Kunstlinie Almere Flevoland. Afrifa is a frequent host or guest at public debates and on primetime panel shows.
Annemies Broekgaarden
Annemies Broekgaarden has headed the Rijksmuseum’s Public & Education department since 2008. Throughout this period she has focused on developing programmes for a wide range of the Rijksmuseum’s target audiences, including those in education. She led the founding of the Teekenschool (Drawing School), an educational centre where people of all ages can follow courses and attend workshops. Prior to joining the Rijksmuseum, Broekgaarden headed Tropenmuseum Junior and founded the Dick Bruna House.
Irma de Bruijne
Irma de Bruijne is Head of Art Programmes at the Teekenschool (Drawing School) and a visual artist. After completing her studies at ArtEZ University of the Arts in Arnhem and educational training for visual artists, she worked as a tour guide at the Rembrandt House Museum and as studio coordinator at the Van Gogh Museum. De Bruijne currently lead the development of courses and workshops at the Rijksmuseum Teekenschool. She continues to exhibit her own artistic work on a regular basis.
Lita Cabellut
Lita Cabellut is a Spanish artist who lives and works in The Hague. Cabellut had her first exhibition, at the city hall of El Masnou, at the age of 17. When she was 19 she moved to the Netherlands to study at Amsterdam’s Gerrit Rietveld Academie. Cabellut’s work has been exhibited at Museo Goya, Museum Jan van der Togt, and the NoordBrabants Museum. She is a jury member on the television programme Project Rembrandt, aired by the public broadcaster NTR.
Hans Rooseboom
Hans Rooseboom is Curator of Photography.
Pieter Roelofs
Pieter Roelofs heads the Rijksmuseum’s Painting and Sculpture department, specialising in 17th-century Dutch painting. He is a member of the both the Year of Rembrandt project team and the team conducting research into The Night Watch. Pieter Roelofs is a jury member on the television programme Project Rembrandt, aired by the public broadcaster NTR.
Mats Suurenbroek
Mats Suurenbroek lives in Abcoude and attends secondary school in Amsterdam. Aged 14, Mats has been crazy about drawing since a very young age, and he still draws almost every day. Mats was ‘discovered’ at the Rijksmuseum’s Teekenschool (Drawing School), and he is looking forward to meeting other people who are passionate about drawing.
