The Junior Fellowship is a talent development programme that rewards young people with an interest in art and history, and helps them take their first steps on a career path in the cultural sector and the arts.
Rijksmuseum Junior Fellowship
High school students submit their final graduation project with a link to the Rijksmuseum collection. By doing so, they have a chance of winning a scholarship and a Traineeship. The intensive five-day traineeship gives fifteen young people an exclusive look behind the scenes at the Rijksmuseum. And a chance to meet experts from the Rijksmuseum and the Dutch national television broadcaster, NTR. The trainees team up to find their own solution to a problem the museum is currently facing. The result is presented at a festive award ceremony, at which the overall winner is announced.
With this programme, the Rijksmuseum supports budding academic talent, while learning as an organisation from these ambitious and creative young people.
