The Rijksmuseum and Royal Talens have recently established a partnership in 2016. For the next few years, Royal Talens will be the Rijksmuseum’s preferred supplier of painting, colouring and drawing materials. The partners also plan to collaborate in education, to exchange knowledge and to join forces to develop products.
Royal Talens – Partner
Taco Dibbits, the Rijksmuseum’s Managing Director, says ‘Learning to look by doing is the Teekenschool education centre’s motto. Royal Talens is an ideal partner for the Rijksmuseum, as they develop drawing art supplies and educational resources that help both children and adults learn to look by doing.’
Royal Talens is one of the leading global producers of paint supplies for professional artists, amateur painters and educational institutions. Founded in 1899, the company has carried the ‘royal’ title since 1949. Today, the company’s products are exported to more than 100 countries.
“As suppliers of painting, colouring and drawing materials, we have a particular passion for art and creative expression. We are delighted to work with the Rijksmuseum to pursue our goals.”
As part of the partnership, Royal Talens will supply art materials to the Rijksmuseum’s Teekenschool. During the successful #hierteekenen event, and the annual drawing event The Big Draw, visitors will be provided with Bruynzeel pencils – one of the many brands that fall under Royal Talens.
One of the first products of the collaboration is the Grote Meesters collection, a collection of four different tins of pencil crayons, watercolour pencils and graphite pencils, inspired by a number of famous works at the Rijksmuseum. The collection is available for purchase at various retailers, including the Rijksmuseum shop.
