After her internment in Nazi concentration camps, Isabel Wachenheimer kept her camp jacket, as well as her family’s pre-war photograph albums. They contain seemingly everyday snapshots: the four-year old Isabel playing with a friend, and sitting on her father’s lap on 10 October 1932, her parent’s wedding anniversary. They were murdered in Auschwitz-Birkenau on 14 October 1944. Isabel died in Leiden on 10 October 2010.
