Description
Uit een opengesperde leeuwemuil ontspruit een bebladerde twijg van een wijnstok, die zich in een krul ombuigt en eindigt in een draak, waarvan de kop met uitgestoken tong en de toppen van zijn uitstaande vleugels weer aan het onderste deel van de twijg aansluiten. De klauwen van de draak rusten op de schouders van een voorover gebogen, van de twijgstam afgewende jongeling, die de handen in biddende houding naar voren steekt en met beide voeten op de onderkaak van de leeuwenmuil staat. In de krul zijn afgebeeld Christus met aureool aan het kruis tussen Maria en Johannes. Het doorgezakte lichaam van Christus is naar Maria toegewend die, naar hem opziende, beide handen gebarend openhoudt. Johannes draagt een boek en staart met de vingers van de rechterhand tegen de kin peinzend naar Christus. Boven het kruis tegen de kromming van de wijnstok zon en maan. Op de keerzijde staat Maria met het kind op de linkerarm en met een vrucht in de rechterhand, tussen twee haar toegewende toortsdragende engelen. Het kind heeft zijn arm om haar schouders geslagen en houdt in de linkerhand een vrucht (?). Op elk der vier grote hoekbladeren van de wijnstok een rozet in zilver.
