Construction model of a two-wheeled cart equipped with a winch. The winch consists of a worm screw and a barrel with a cogwheel. The shaft of the worm screw runs from the front of the cart frame to the back; the crank is at the front. There are two wooden rollers, one at the fore and one aft.
Jochem Pietersz Asmus (1755-1837) observed this type of timber wagon during his voyage to France in 1797, where it was called a triqueballe.2 He mentions the model as part of the model collection of the Amsterdam Navy dockyard in 1801.3
