Red wax model of a figurehead on the knee of the head, mounted on a pedestal.
The figure depicts a female torso in classical dress with a necklace of palm branches. Below the torso is a grotesque fish.
The figure represents Nehalennia, a goddess worshipped in Roman times by merchants and sailors in the area that covers present-day Zeeland, for the ship Nehalennia.1
