Five samples of cable, four made of galvanised iron of different diameters (1-4), one made of copper (5). All samples have brass rings holding the ends together. The iron cables are all cable laid, consisting of six strands around a wire heart strand, strands and heart consisting of six wires shroud-laid around a seventh. The copper cable is also cable-laid, consisting of six shroud-laid strands around a rope heart strand. The strands again consist of six wires around a rope heart.
