Framed black-and-white photograph of a group of twenty-five men in a garden in front of a bamboo fence. They wear dark uniforms and broad, white hats. Some of their tools, including a stretcher, lie before them in the grass.
This group was formed by the Red Cross, financed by the Dutch state, for the second expedition in Aceh in 1874. The text on the back explains their uniform, pay and duties.
