Polychromed frame model of a single-masted fishing boat without rigging, on a stand.
The model has an elegant hull with a curved stem topped with a scroll, a round tuck, a small counter and an open taffrail. The broad round-headed rudder is nailed on to the model. The boat has a foredeck with a round hatch, a large open cockpit with a triple fish box, and an aft cuddy. The sheer rises slightly towards both ends, the boat has one wale. The carvel-built hull is S-shaped. The boat has a mast step for a striking mast on the foredeck, with a slot for the mast heel. The stand of the model can be folded down.
The model was bought at auction in The Hague (Louis Meijer) by the Department of the Navy on 24 April 1865.2
