Entry

Ten samples of solid iron shot, in diminishing order numbered from 1 to 10, on a wooden stand. Ball number 9 is missing.

Originally numbered 1138 was a half model of a sloop of war with screw propulsion, scale 1:50, a discontinued design: a layout of this proposal can be found in the archives.¹ This model could not be found, but in its place was this collection of shot, bearing the number 1138.
