After the Hunt, Jan Baptist Weenix, c. 1656
A company of men has come to a halt near the ruins of an ancient Roman building set in a southern landscape. Judging from the hunting costume of the boy and the three hounds in the foreground, they must be hunters. Before the boy lies the catch and in his hands is the net used to trap the birds. The young beggar sitting against one of the columns is hoping for alms.
