Description

Weids gezicht op de stad Constantinopel en het omringende landschap, vanuit de Nederlandse ambassade te Pera. Op de voorgrond een terras of uitkijkpunt waar enkele westerlingen en Turken van het uitzicht genieten. Rechts een bediende met een paard. Vanmour schilderde het weidse zicht uit de eetzaal van de ambassade, met links het Aziatische deel van Istanbul en rechts het Europese deel met op een heuvel het Topkapı Sarayı, het paleis. De rivier op de voorgrond is de Gouden Hoorn, met de Ottomaanse vloot. Links ligt de Bosporus.
