Een plausibele verklaring voor de twee op het blad voorkomende handtekeningen van Arntzenius en Breitner is dat Arntzenius de tekening waarover Breitner zelf niet tevreden was heeft opgewerkt en er daarna zijn signatuur aan heeft toegevoegd. Zie Loos (2002).
