Description

De verloren zoon. Het verhaal van de Verloren Zoon, uitgebeeld in vier taferelen op één schilderij. Links neemt de zoon afscheid van zijn vader, daarachter drinkt hij met een vrouw aan een tafel buiten een herberg. Rechts daarvan is de zoon als varkenshoeder te zien en uiterst rechts de thuiskomst van de zoon, het verwelkomen door de vader en het slachten van het gemeste kalf. Het doek maakt deel uit van een reeks van parabels geschilderd voor de Lutherse kerk in Leiden (zie ook nrs. SK-A-2959 en SK-A-2960).
