The support is a piece of paper, the laid lines of which are visible, which was pasted onto a vertically grained oak plank approx. 0.8 cm thick. The image (17.8 x 13.8 cm) has a border approx. 0.5 cm wide on all sides painted to imitate wood, which continues to the edges. Infrared photography revealed traces of an underdrawing in a dry medium, consisting of stipples and contours. The technique is fairly simple, with the sitter reserved.
Fair. There is discoloured retouching in the background. The coat of arms has been overpainted. The varnish is severely discoloured.
