Het kantoor van de notaris. Een klerk of boekhouder in onderhandeling met links een man met een geldzakje en rechts een vrouw met een jongetje met een fluit op schoot. In het midden een tafel waarop een kasboek en enkele munten liggen. Op de achtergrond een boekenkast en verzegelde documenten aan de muur.
