A Father Should Surround His Child with Love and to Protect and Eclipse Him with His Devotion and Righteousness, Elisabeth Stoffers, 1917
Elisabeth Stoffers is one of the few women who turned to abstraction early on. Her work expresses sympathy for the astral world that exists alongside of, and after, physical life. This astral world can be experienced during dreams, and out of the body and near-death experiences. Her pastel drawings also evince a relationship with the abstractions and the colours of energy fields around human beings, as illustrated in the plates of theosophical books of the time.
