Cover Design for Reunion on a Plastic-Skin, Dick Bruna, c. 1957
Bruna cut out forms from solid coloured paper for the cover design of this anthology of poetry. He had earlier seen how Matisse simplified form and renounced perspective. Léger gave him the idea of actually disconnecting form and colour. Bruna always designed in the actual format so that no adjustments in scale had to be made for the end product.
