Known for her watercolours of animals, Sonja Dwinger also made several powerful watercolour studies of female nudes. With only a few alternating thick and thin lines and by making optimal use of the white of the paper, Dwinger here convincingly captured a strongly lit body. The woman looks as though she is replacing a light bulb.
