This miniature portrays an episode from the Rasikapriya, an anthology of love poetry. It sensuously illustrates the love that is both human and divine. According to the poem on the back, the women are talking about the youth and beauty of the newly married Radha, Krishna’s beloved lover. In the Rasikapriya, Radha and Krishna are seen as archetypal lovers.
