Explanatory note

Reznicek suggereert dat het een afbeelding is van Parsimonia vanwege het jeugdige uiterlijk van de vrouw. Echter, Parsimonia wordt op de gravures van Ph. Galle naar Heemskerck anders afgebeeld in de series 'Divitum misera sors' (Kerrich, 1829, p. 86, 2). Het is waarschijnlijker dat hier Fortuna bedoeld wordt, die ook met een geldbuidel afgebeeld wordt.
