Explanatory note
De Kardinaalhoningeter komt niet voor in Zuidelijk Afrika; waarschijnlijk aan Gordon geschonken door James Cook, tijdens zijn bezoek aan de Kaap in 1780. John Webber begeleidde 'Captain Cook' op zijn derde ontdekkingsreis door de Zuidzee.
