Description

Heilige Familie op de vlucht naar Egypte in een nachtelijk landschap. Maria zit met het Kind op een ezel die door een engel wordt geleid. Josef loopt naast de ezel en kijkt om naar de soldaten die de verkeerde kant opgestuurd zijn. Twee engelen begeleiden het gezelschap.

Signatuur op prent 'C. Galle', onduidelijk of dit de vader of zoon betreft. In de Hollstein is deze prent dubbel beschreven, bij het oeuvre van Cornelis I Galle en Cornelis II Galle. Prent wordt nu toegeschreven aan Cornelis I Galle.
