Description

Mercurius en Jupiter staan met een ouder echtpaar, Philemon en Baucis, op een heuvel en kijken naar het landschap dat geteisterd wordt door overstroming en onweer. De Goden hebben het echtpaar net op tijd in veiligheid gebracht. Philemon en Baucis hebben de gunst van de Goden gewekt omdat ze hun gastvrij opnamen in hun huis en hun te eten gaven.
