Bearded Old Man in a Fur Cap, with Eyes Closed, Rembrandt van Rijn, c. 1635
While Rembrandt did not etch this man after a model by Jan Lievens, the depiction and execution are very close to the other four prints after him on view here. The man wears a fur cap bound on his head by means of a scarf, the ends of which hang down over his shoulders. His cloak is held together with a decorative fastening at his chest.
