Here a bourgeois, urban couple is dancing merrily. The class difference with the peasant wedding depicted in the print nearby is reflected in the musical instruments used. Both the three-stringed fiddle and the lute were previously associated with the bourgeoisie. This was also true of the krummhorn, which was often played in trio or quartet.
