Explanatory note

Voor het eerst gebruikt als boekillustratie in: Brant, Sebastian. Das Narrenschiff. Basel: Johann Bergmann von Olpe, 1494. Deze prent is waarschijnlijk afkomstig uit een editie met preken over Brant's Narrenschip die Johann Geiler von Kaisersberg gaf in Straatsburg tussen 1501-1502: Geiler von Kaisersberg, Johann. Navicula, sive Speculum Fatuorum. Straatsburg, Johann Prüss, 1511.
