De 16-jarige Louise Sébastienne Gély kort na haar huwelijk met de beroemde revolutionair Georges-Jacques Danton. Naast haar de zoon van Danton uit een eerder huwelijk. Hij bekijkt de prenten die op tafel liggen door een zogenaamde opticaspiegel.
