Twee kloosterlingen rond een tafel vol boeken in de bibliotheek van Subiaco. Een van hen zit in een stoel te lezen, de andere bekijkt staand een foliant. Op de grond liggen boeken en documenten. Tegen de muur staat een boekenkast met bovenop twee bustes.
