Description

Hofdame en edelman op een nachtelijke vaart door een besneeuwd landschap. deze scene verwijst naar hoofdstuk 51 'Ukifune' uit Het verhaal van Genji. In deze aflevering gaat de kleinzoon van Genji, prins Niou er op een nacht met de dame Ukifune vandoor. Het verhaal van Genji (Genji monogatari) is geschreven in de Heian periode (794-1185) door de hofdame Murasaki Shikibu. Met drie gedichten.
