Explanatory note

Deze prenten maken deel uit van een reeks van 38 genummerde prenten van maskers. Het begint met twintig voorstellingen van groteske maskers en één ongenummerde ronde prent met het hoofd van Silenus. Daar op volgen 18 voorstellingen van antieke maskers. Op basis van de doornummering kunnen ook de laatste 18 prenten worden toegeschreven aan Adamo Scultori. Telkens zijn er drie platen op één blad bij elkaar gedrukt.
