Everyone a Photographer Poster for Guy de Coral & Co, Johann Georg van Caspel, 1901
In 1890, 1000 amateur photographers were active in the Netherlands. In 1895 that number grew to 5000, and around 1900 to 15,000. The international photography industry flourished. Handheld cameras shrank in size and were easier to use. Photography was now within everyone’s reach: without a darkroom. Photographic retailers like Guy de Coral supplied products and services and also printed photographs.
