Description

Zeegezicht met het eiland Patmos op de voorgrond. Op het eiland de apostel en evangelist Johannes, samen met de adelaar, zijn evangelisch symbool. Hij kijkt naar de lucht. In de wolken verschijnt de gekroonde Maria met het Christuskind en het zevenkoppig beest van de Apocalyps. De prent heeft een ornamentele lijst met bloemen en dieren. Hij maakt deel uit van een vierentwintigdelige serie van landschappen met Bijbelse, mythologische scènes en jachttaferelen.
