Register of the Pupils at the Colonial School for Girls and Women in The Hague, Vol. II, anonymous, 1930 - 1949
printing, h 350mm × w 455mm More details
The register makes it clear that the student cohort was fairly uniform: young and white Dutch women, usually engaged and mostly living in The Hague. Among them, Sophie Tribulawony stood out. Born in Buitenzorg (Bogor) on Java, Tribulawony was of Moluccan descent and in 1932 came with her parents to the Netherlands where she attended secondary school. She enrolled in the Colonial School in 1936.
