Bourne photographed part of the Imambara complex, a place of worship for Shiite Muslims in the northern Indian city of Lucknow. Built in 1838, it is also known as the Palace of Light because of the many large candelabras in its interior. Bourne’s eye was also focused on the reflection of the building in the water, an important part of the whole construction.
