Architectural Fragment, Delmaet & Durandelle, 1862 - 1868
Paris was radically rebuilt in the second half of the 19th century. Along with scores of new streets, many new buildings were erected, including the Nouvel Opéra, Sacré-Coeur, and the Eiffel Tower. The Paris firm of Delmaet et Durandelle, specialized in architectural photography, followed the progress of all three buildings. They also photographed individual details one by one.
