7th Avenue, Leon Levinstein, 1958
Levinstein was passionate about street photography. His output is simply stunning, both in terms of quantity and quality. From the 1950s through the 1980s he took countless photographs of people in the streets of his place of residence, New York, and he later also went to Europe, Haiti, and Mexico. Levinstein was a loner in the world of photography, and interest in him and his work only really grew after his death.
