Photo Album with Collages and Cut-Outs, Eva Charlotte Pennink-Boelen, 1934 - 1936
Eva Pennink was a girl from well-to-do Amsterdam circles and a playful, talented amateur photographer. She took lessons from the well-known photographer Erwin Blumenfeld, who owned a shop specialized in ladies’ handbags and a photo studio in Amsterdam. Almost every year she made a photo album, a diary really, with collages of her own cut-out photographs, magazine illustrations, and amusing texts, in which she pokes fun at a girl’s life.
