A pair of iron handcuffs linked by a couple of shackles, and a key. The lock is a simple catch, which the key pulls back by turning on a thread. Both cuffs and the key are marked ‘55’.
These handcuffs were acquired by the Inspector of Equipment for the Dutch Navy as examples of British handcuffs in 1866.1
