Explanatory note

Volgens de inventaris is het monster koud ongehamerd. Dit monster werd door W. De Fremery in 1858 ontvangen van de Krupp-fabriek in Essen. De Nederlandse Marine legde haar eerste contacten met Krupp in 1857 en begon later met de aankoop van geschut bij Krupp.
