Rigged wooden frame model of a launch with sails, mounted on a stand.
Clinker-built, double-banked launch with a round bottom and a square stern (flat with a skeg). The model has a small foredeck, seven thwarts with stretchers and an open cockpit with side-benches. The frames are made out of three parts. At the stern a basic rudder with a cranked brass tiller is indicated. The rigging consists of a main and foresail, both dipping lugsails. Three oars have been preserved, a gangway and two boat hooks.
The model represents a 10.2-metre-long captain’s launch, constructed according to the regulations of the Dutch Navy of 1828.1
