Explanatory note

De kanonneergalei van 5 tot 7 stukken Zeeduivel, lang 91 voet, was een platbodem logger in 1799 door de Marine te Amsterdam gekocht en door Asmus tot kanonneergalei omgebouwd. Het scheepstype wordt beschreven als kanonneerboot, roeikanonneerboot of kanonneergalei. Zij deed dienst op de Waddenzee tot zij in 1807 werd gesloopt.
